EVENT SUMMARY:
Student leaders are invited to participate in our 8th Annual Student Organization Reception & Employer Networking Dinner. On the night of the 2nd day of the Spring Career & Internship Fair, this event has everything; a 3-course meal, entertainment, awards and scholarship announcements plus it is a great time to network with employers while also discussing potential future organizational partnerships with employers in programming, sponsorship, and mentoring. Opportunities to learn about how your leadership experience can translate into the world of work will be abundant.
Seats have been reserved quickly in the past. (IMPORTANT: see registration information below). Only registered student organizations with valid FRS or SGA account numbers may attend. Due to high demand this year space is limited to 100 students but seats go fast. Previous dinners have been a huge success and seats will fill up quickly.

MANDATORY POSTER SESSION AND AWARDS INFORMATION:
Student Organization Poster Session (Required):
Each student group attending the event must design and create a poster to represent your organization's mission, activities, pictures etc. The poster's black foam board will be supplied by the University Career Center and will be on display throughout the reception area. The design and content of the poster will be taken into consideration for the outstanding organization of the year award which will be announced at the dinner. Once your organization registers you will be emailed a pick-up date for when you can pick up your poster material and guidelines. This is meant to be a simple way for your organization to present itself during the reception. Posters are due back at the University Career Center by February 1, 2013.
CALL FOR AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIP NOMINATIONS:
The dinner will also be a time to present monetary awards that will recognize the hard work that you as student leaders have done over the year (March 2012 - January 2013). Click here to nominate
The following categories of awards will be given:
Outstanding Organization of the Year award: $300 will be given to the most outstanding student organization and poster display. Organizations can nominate themselves for this award. The selection will be done by our awards committee and will be announced at the dinner. Deadline: February 1, 2013
Outstanding Student Leader scholarship: $100 will be transferred into the student account to the person awarded as the outstanding student leader as nominated by their peers (self nominations accepted). The selection of this award would be done by our awards committee and will be announced at the dinner. Deadline: February 1, 2013
Outstanding Professional Development Program of the Year award: $200 will be transferred into the account of the organization awarded as the outstanding program of the year. Based on your nominations the award recipient will be selected by our awards committee. Eligible programs can include, but not limited, networking events, panels, workshops etc. Your organization MUST have an FRS or SGA Accounts number in order to receive the monetary reward. REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Online registration for the event will be available online here until February 1, 2013 . Space is limited to only 100 student seats and they fill up fast. Please follow the instructions below to help insure your organization will be able to attend.
- Designate one person from your group to register all attendees. Each organization can invite up to 5 student members of your leadership team (executives, officers, chairpersons, really involved members etc) and each student leader will also receive free business cards to use at the event.
- Have the following information about each participant on hand: name, student ID number, email, phone number, leadership position and whether or not they require a vegetarian option for dinner.
- Have on hand your organization's email and website address to be placed in the networking booklets.
- IMPORTANT: Have your organization's (or sponsoring department's) FRS or SGA accounts number on hand. This event is FREE to participate however space is limited (IMPORTANT: refer to cancellation and no show policy below)
- A confirmation email will be sent to the primary registrants contact with more information as well as the date that you may pick up your poster session foam boards.

No Show and Cancellation or Information Update Policy:
Cancellations or adjustments in attendee numbers must be made by 4:30pm on February 1, 2013 . Again, this event is FREE to participate however since space is limited, and employers are paying to sponsor each dinner table, if your organization fails to cancel by the cancellation deadline or a member of your organization is unaccounted for at the dinner we will have to charge your organization 25 dollars (cost of the meal) per vacant plate. It is really important that if an organization member is unable to attend that you have another member come as their designate. Special exceptions may be made for emergencies and is on a case by case basis.
