Careers4Terps is a Web-based service providing students and alumni access to jobs, internships, and part-time jobs posted by employers looking for UM students and alumni

You can also use it to:

• participate in the on-campus interview program;
• make your resume available to employers by uploading it to the appropriate Resume Books so employers can find you; and
• learn about career news, including upcoming career fairs and Employer Networking Sessions by employers through our e-newsletter.

Student Registration Policies:
By registering, you give permission to have your resume and other documents forwarded to employers and viewed by University Career Center & The President's Promise staff members.

Reminder - In your job search, both on Careers4Terps and off, remember that you should not disclose social security numbers, credit card numbers, or bank account numbers to unknown employers.  Also, never spend any of your own money to obtain a position unless you are certain it is for a legitimate reason. If you need guidance, you can always contact the University Career Center for advice.

If an employer ever asks you for any of this information, or if you suspect an employer of running a scam, contact the Center at ucc-studenthelp@umd.edu immediately and provide the employer name and job title of the posting in Careers4Terps.

Key Tasks to Do After Registering:

1. Fill out your profile completely. Remember, your profile must be accurate so that jobs that are pre-screened by year level or major will show up in your search results.
2. Search for jobs and internships.
3. Set up a search agent to receive the most recently posted jobs or internships directly in your e-mail inbox.
4. Once you find a great opportunity schedule a Career Assistance Appointment. Bring a typed draft of the resume to the appointment. We can help target your resume to put your best foot forward. Hours
5. Upload your resume and additional documents in the documents section of Careers4Terps and apply to the position.
6. Don't forget to upload your resume in our opt-in Resume Books. Employers search these to invite students to apply to their jobs. Make it easy for them to find you!

Engineering students: should register with the A. James Clark School of Engineering Engineering Co-op and Career Services Office to use their Careers4Engineers program.

Business students: a jobs database for R. H. Smith School of Business students only is HireSmith.

Public policy students: Visit the School of Public Policy's Office of Career Services
